Welcome parents/guardians and students to Art 1 or Speech 1. My name is Mrs. Wedlake (formly Ms. Ricardo). I have been teaching for 13 years. I love art!!
In Art 1 class it will include the Fundamentals and Principles of Art. Students will be creating projects and will have to bring in materials. There is a $20.00 lab fee. Fees are also asked to be turned in ASAP. I have lots of projects in mind for this school year. I expect a lot of enthusiasm and work from my students. I plan to have anywhere between 4 to 6 projects each grading period. There will also be smaller assignments (worksheets, bellwork, etc.) that will be graded.
Students will begin each grading period with a participation/clean-up procedure grade. Everyday students will be evaluated. If the student was not participating that day, did not turn in homework, and/or did not follow clean-up procedures, then points will be deducted.
Welcome parents/guardians and students to Speech 1. This introductory high school course is designed to give students the opportunities to gain poise, develop personal interests, and share responsibilities for group projects. Students will have opportunities to acquire listening skills, to learn fundamentals of oral presentation, to increase their vocabularies through word studies as it relates to speech, to prepare and present various types of speeches, to participate in group discussions, to meet some of the challenges of performing through mass media, and to develop interpersonal communications skills. This class will include the basics of public speaking.
I have lots of classroom rules and regulations that will be enforced everyday in my class. If students can follow the rules, and actively participate in projects and assignments then we should have an enjoyable year!!
